A green paradise all around the Imperial Grand Hotel
Something very special: the vast spa gardens in Levico Terme are the Imperial Grand Hotel’s garden at the same time. One section is available exclusively for our hotel guests.
The hotel and park were designed and created as one unit at the end of the 19th century. The landscape architect Georg Ziehl from Nuremberg designed a picturesque landscape modelled on an English garden over an area of roughly 15 hectares with precious trees, plenty of green spaces and a network of footpaths. The gardener lived in an Art Nouveau villa in the middle of the park.
In the spa gardens several giant trees of life and a sequoia provide shade and have been around since the very beginning! The plants came to Levico back then by railway from Austrian tree nurseries. You can still get from the train station straight to the park’s main entrance via an alley today.
Later on, many other deciduous trees and flowerbeds, Caucasus spruce trees, ginkgos and maple trees completed the lush overall picture. As the seasons change, lilac, hyacinths, hydrangeas, tulips and roses blossom and waft their sweet scent.
Many different events take place in the park throughout the year, including concerts and of course the famous Christmas market. The spa gardens are a wonderful meeting place for Levico Terme’s residents, day trippers and holidaymakers. For you, honoured guests at the Imperial Grand Hotel, the park literally lies at your feet!
